Families pay one transparent service fee.
You set the entry fee. You receive it in full. The platform fee is added once at checkout, shown to the family. No surprise reserves, no opaque cuts, no markups hidden in your price.

What it looks like in practice
Four real examples, no maths required.
The platform fee is capped at $50, so high-ticket entries get a better deal proportionally. Stripe card processing of 2.9% + $0.30 is rolled into the same service fee the family sees.

Refunds done properly
One click. The maths is right.
Full and partial refunds reconcile platform and processing fees correctly, so the organiser never eats fees they have not earned, and the family receives exactly what they expect.
Full refund
Family gets everything back.
The full amount the family paid is returned. Stripe returns its processing fee. The platform fee is reversed. Organiser nets zero on the registration.
Partial refund
A fixed percentage, set up-front.
Refund the percentage you configured on the event, as long as the request lands inside your refund window. Platform and processing fees reconcile on the refunded portion, not the full registration.

Common questions
Pricing FAQ.
- Can I absorb the fee instead of passing it to families?
- Not today. Events Lite is built around a transparent family-pays model: families see one clear service fee at checkout and you receive every entry fee in full. Talk to us if your operation has a specific need to absorb the fee and we can review on a case-by-case basis.
- What happens to fees on refunds?
- Full refunds return the family's entire payment and Stripe returns its processing fee. Partial refunds return the percentage you configured on the event's refund policy. In both cases, platform and processing fees reconcile correctly on the refunded portion, so neither side eats fees they have not earned.
- How do payouts actually work?
- We use Stripe Connect destination charges, which means money lands directly in your bank account on Stripe's standard payout schedule. We never hold your funds. New Stripe accounts have a short rolling reserve while Stripe risk-reviews; established accounts pay out on the normal cadence.
- Do I pay anything for free events?
- No. Free events are free. There are no monthly fees, no per-event fees, and no platform fees on free registrations.
- What about international cards, ACH, or other payment methods?
- International cards and ACH have their own Stripe processing rates, which are passed through transparently in the service fee shown to the family. Get in touch if you run a lot of international entrants and we'll walk you through the specifics.
- Is there a volume discount or enterprise plan?
- If you're running 50+ events a year, or you have specific commercial needs (white-label contracts, custom integrations, dedicated support), talk to us. We tailor pricing for serious operators.
